Teenager Killed in Head-On Collision on Highway 299 in Trinity County

Trinity County, California – The California Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal Douglas City truck collision on Highway 299 that claimed the life of a 15-year-old Modoc County girl.

CHP said the teenager was driving a 2003 Chevrolet pickup truck eastbound on Highway 299 at a high rate of speed and was passing multiple vehicles by entering the westbound lane.

The teenager then collided head-on with an oncoming Chevy pickup truck while attempting to pass a three-axle semi-truck.

Following the impact of the crash, the teen’s pickup was thrown into the air and crashed into the left back side of the semi-truck.

The crash occurred at around 9 a.m. August 10 near the Indian Creek Lodge

CHP said both pickups landed and rested in the westbound lane of the highway.

The Modoc girl was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene. She was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The other pickup driver, a Texas man, suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene and released. The semi-truck driver was unhurt.

CHP is investigating the incident. Anyone with additional information regarding the accident is asked to call 623-3832.

“Usually, clients hire me immediately after their first consultation because they quickly figure out that I will treat them like family. I lift a weight off their shoulders immediately. That is my job. We simply leave no stone unturned – period. We go after everyone and everything. There is no other way to ensure justice,” Mr. Khodaverdian states.

While Mr. Khodaverdian does not represent any of the parties involved in this incident, he has recovered over $100 million for thousands of injury victims and their families. “In one case, we were able to recover a 7-figure settlement within 11 business days of being hired by the family of a victim killed by a negligent driver. We have numerous other 6-figure settlements within 30 days. While these results are atypical and do not predict future outcomes, justice in these cases helped bring about closure and a swift sense of justice for the families.”
