Zanhi Williams Killed in Bakersfield Train Collision near Edison Highway

Bakersfield, California – A diver who died following a collision with a train near Edison Highway Wednesday morning has been identified as Zanhi Williams, according to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office.

Williams, 21, and her passenger, Bonnie Jeban, were both ejected from their vehicle when it was hit by the train.

According to CHP, the two were driving in a silver Nissan Altima traveling eastbound on Edison Highway at a high rate of speed.

Shortly before 12 p.m., the Nissan tried to pass another vehicle and lost control. The Nissan drifted to the left across a raised median and the westbound lanes.

The Nissan ended up overturned on the railroad tracks on the north side of the road. It was then hit by an eastbound BNSF train.

Williams was pronounced dead at the scene.

Jeban was taken to Kern Medical Center with major injuries.

The crash is under investigation by the CHP.

Swift action by an intelligent and experienced attorney is imperative in order to preserve evidence, interview witnesses and immediately begin pursuing any and all responsible parties.”

“Usually, clients hire me immediately after their first consultation because they quickly figure out that I will treat them like family. I lift a weight off their shoulders immediately. That is my job. We simply leave no stone unturned – period. We go after everyone and everything. There is no other way to ensure justice,” Mr. Khodaverdian states.

While Mr. Khodaverdian does not represent any of the parties involved in this incident, he has recovered over $100 million for thousands of injury victims and their families. “In one case, we were able to recover a 7-figure settlement within 11 business days of being hired by the family of a victim killed by a negligent driver. We have numerous other 6-figure settlements within 30 days. While these results are atypical and do not predict future outcomes, justice in these cases helped bring about closure and a swift sense of justice for the families.”
