Tuolumne, California – An investigation is ongoing following a traffic crash that left Abel William McCullough, 2, of Copperopolis seriously injured on North Fork Road in Tuolumne Thursday afternoon.

According to CHP, Kayla Marie Dickerson-Childres, 20, of Merced, was driving a 2012 Toyota Yaris south on North Fork Road at about 4:05 p.m. July 30.

When she entered a left-hand curve in the roadway, the Toyota  went across the solid double yellow lines and collided with an oncoming 2007 Dodge Ram, driven by Brian Edward Finigan, 59, of Sonora.

Abel was a passenger in the Toyota. He was airlifted to Doctor’s Medical Center in Modesto with major injuries.

Other passengers in the Toyota, Melissa Ann McCullough, 33, and Donte Rashawn Turner, 25, both of Copperopolis, sustained moderate injuries and were transported to Adventist Health Sonora.

Dickerson-Childres sustained minor injuries and declined medical attention.

Finigan and his passengers were unhurt.

Authorities said the child passenger safety seat that Abel was using had been improperly installed in the vehicle.

The investigation is ongoing.

Arin Khodaverdian, CEO and Managing Attorney of Alpine Law Group, urges accidents victims and their families to immediately seek legal assistance. “Those who are affected by tragedy have rights, but they must act quickly in order to preserve those rights. Swift action by an intelligent and experienced attorney is imperative in order to preserve evidence, interview witnesses and immediately begin pursuing any and all responsible parties.”

“Usually, clients hire me immediately after their first consultation because they quickly figure out that I will treat them like family. I lift a weight off their shoulders immediately. That is my job. We simply leave no stone unturned – period. We go after everyone and everything. There is no other way to ensure justice,” Mr. Khodaverdian states.

While Mr. Khodaverdian does not represent any of the parties involved in this incident, he has recovered over $100 million for thousands of injury victims and their families. “In one case, we were able to recover a 7-figure settlement within 11 business days of being hired by the family of a victim killed by a negligent driver. We have numerous other 6-figure settlements within 30 days. While these results are atypical and do not predict future outcomes, justice in these cases helped bring about closure and a swift sense of justice for the families.”
