Krystal Kazmark Killed in Mammoth Lakes Car Crash on Benton Crossing Road

Mammoth Lakes, California – The identity of a woman who died Saturday night after two vehicles collided in Mammoth Lakes has been released.

25-year-old Krystal Kazmark, of Mammoth Lakes, was the victim.

The California Highway Patrol said the fatal incident was reported at about 9 p.m., July 25, on Benton Crossing Road, just west of Pit Road.

A white 2016 Kia Sorento was traveling eastbound on Benton Crossing Road while at the same time a silver 2017 Toyota Tacoma was heading west on Benton Crossing Road.

The driver of the Toyota made a series of turning movements on the curved portion of the road, causing the vehicle to roll across the eastbound lanes.

The Kia then crashed into the passenger side of the Toyota.

Kazmark, who was a passenger in the Toyota, was killed in the crash.

The driver of the Toyota and another passenger suffered severe injuries and were transported to hospital in Bishop and Mammoth Lakes.

The Kia’s driver and a passenger were also taken to the hospital with major injuries.

CHP said there were other victims with minor to moderate injuries. All were taken to Mammoth Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the Kia and other occupants were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, but the Toyota driver and the other occupants were not, according to the CHP.

The incident remains under investigation.
