Perris, California – Authorities are investigating a deadly crash that happened at Ramona Expressway and Perris Boulevard in Perris on Monday night.
Dannalee Evans, 8, was among two people who were killed in the crash that occurred at around 10:05 p.m. July 20.
Police said a Mercedes-Benz was traveling southbound on Perris Boulevard when it failed to stop for a red light at Ramona. The Benz collided with a Dodge Durango that was heading west on Ramona Expressway.
Following the impact, the Durango crashed into a Honda Accord that was waiting to make a turn onto Perris Boulevard.
Other vehicles were also involved in the wreck.
Evan and her grandmother, 75-year-old Feliciana Martines, were passengers in the Durango and were both killed in the crash. Evans’ mother was the driver of the car. She and another child in the car survived the crash.
Other motorists were taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
The authorities believe DUI was a factor in the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
