Henry Duffy Arrested After Deadly Crash on Base Line Street near 215 Freeway in San Bernardino
San Bernardino, California – One person was killed and two others injured following a three-vehicle crash early Thursday morning.
San Bernardino Police Department officials said the crash scene was on Base Line Street near the 215 Freeway.
Authorities said a Honda Civic and a Chevrolet Silverado were traveling westbound on Base Line Street when their drivers lawfully turned left at a traffic light onto the southbound 215 freeway on-ramp.
At the same time, 29-year-old Henry Duffy of Adelanto was driving a Chevy Malibu east on Base Line when he allegedly sped through a red light and crashed into the Honda and Silverado.
The driver of the Honda suffered critical injuries and was rushed to the hospital. Sadly, the victim succumbed to their injuries.
A passenger in the Malibu and the driver of the Silverado were also taken to the hospital with unspecified injuries.
Authorities said Duffy got out of his car and fled the scene on foot but later showed up at the SBPD at around 3 p.m. He was arrested on Suspicion of Vehicular manslaughter.
Police believed alcohol and speed are factors in the crash.
The crash remains under an active investigation.
