McFarland, California – The Kern County Coroner’s office has disclosed the identity of a man who was killed in a car accident in McFarland on Friday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened on Highway 43 near Sherwood Avenue at about 3:30 a.m.
The authorities said a BMW was traveling westbound on Sherwood Avenue when it collided with a Dodge Ram pickup truck that was traveling northbound on Highway 43.
The driver of the BMW, 34-year-old Christopher Ortiz, of Wasco, was killed in the accident.
The driver of the Dodge was unhurt.
No additional information was provided.
