Ontario, California – Three people were killed in a multi-vehicle collision in Ontario on Tuesday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at about 9:30 a.m. June 16, on Interstate 10 Freeway near Haven Avenue.
The authorities said a 2011 Volvo tractor that was pulling a semi-trailer was traveling eastbound on 10 Freeway when it rear-ended a 2002 Chrysler Voyager van was stopped for traffic ahead.
The impact of the collision pushed the Voyager into the rear of a stopped 2015 Volvo tractor-trailer.
Three occupants of the Voyager were killed in the accident.
The three were described as a 25-year-old man, a 25-year-old woman and a 7-year-old child.
The driver of the 2011 Volvo tractor sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center with moderate injuries.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
