Two Officers in New York Suspended after They Shoved 75-year-old Protestor
Two Buffalo police officers were suspended without pay Thursday after a video showed them shoving a 75-year-old man to the ground during a protest.
The graphic video shared on Twitter showed a man walking up to Buffalo Department officers. It was unclear whether he exchanged words with the officer before he was shoved to the sidewalk.
The video then showed the man stumble back and fall before he became motionless and bled for his head. A man was heard in the video recording, shouting that the old man was bleeding from his ears.
The video drew immediate condemnation.
Authorities said Thursday that the man in the video was at the hospital in a serious but stable condition.
The Buffalo Police Department later announced the suspension of the officers and added that an internal affairs investigation was already underway.
