Florida Man Fatally Shoots Home Intruder who was Attacking His Wife

A home intruder was shot and killed in Florida when he busted through the glass door and started attacking another man’s wife.

Police responded to the incident at the Panama City home around 6:05 a.m. They found 31-year-old Nathan Jerrell Edwards lying dead on the floor and a handgun on the counter.

According to the officials, a man in his 70s was standing outside when Edwards walked up to his driveway and approached him in a threatening manner. The man got into his home through the garage, but Edwards followed him, shattered the large glass panel in the front door and entered the house.

The intruder knocked the man’s wife to the floor and started beating her. The husband then shot Edwards, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man’s wife was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Edwards, who was from Georgia, was staying nearby in a short-term rental residence.
