Donald Trump Names New Deputy Campaign Manager

Trump Adds to Staff for Election, Naming New Deputy Campaign Manager

President Donald Trump installed Bill Stepien, a veteran political adviser, to the top hierarchy of his re-election staff, adding support for the campaign manager, Brad Parscale.

The president’s aides promoted one of his top political advisers to deputy campaign manager, in a move to bolster the team heading into the final five months of the re-election effort, officials said Thursday.

Bill Stepien, the former White House political director who worked as a senior political adviser to the campaign, said in a statement that the new role would let him give support to both Mr Trump and Parscale.

The campaign also promoted Stephanie Alexander, who was currently the Midwest regional political director, to the campaign chief of staff.

The moves came as Trump faced political headwinds and fell behind Joseph R. Biden Jr. in many polls, increasing speculation that he would reshuffle his campaign.
