Canada Air Force Officer Killed and Another Injured in Plane Crash

The Plane Crashed During a Performance to Honor Efforts against Coronavirus


A member of the elite Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) aerobatics team and another was injured in a plane crash during a performance to honor public efforts against the coronavirus.

The plane is reported to have crashed into the front yard of a house in Kamloops shortly after taking off on Sunday morning. “It is with heavy hearts that we announce that one member of the CF Snowbirds team has died,” the RCAF said in a statement.

The officer who was killed was identified as Captain Jenn Casey, a public affairs officer with the air force. A second person was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

The pilot managed to eject from the plane with a parachute before it crashed, and landed on the roof of a house.
