Modesto, California – Three people were injured in a multi-vehicle accident that happened on Tuesday night in Modesto.
The accident happened at around 9 p.m. May 5, near 6th and H streets.
A California Highway Patrol vehicle, operated by a 36-year-old officer, was traveling on H Street approaching the intersection. At the same time, an SUV and a sedan were also entering the intersection when they crashed into the driver’s side of the patrol vehicle.
The officer, a nine-year veteran at CHP’s Modesto division, suffered serious injuries in the crash and was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
The other two drivers sustained minor injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment.
The three drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.
Alcohol and drugs did not appear as factors in the accident.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
