At least seven people were injured after a fire broke out at a residential building in Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Tuesday night, the authorities said.
Town authorities said the fire broke out at the 48-storey Abbco Tower at around 9.00 p.m. local time (17:00 GMT).
Sharjah Civil Defence (SCD) teams and officers from the fire department responded to the incident and quickly extinguished the flames before the situation could escalate further.
Seven people were injured in the incident and were transported to the hospital for treatment.
At least five buildings near the engulfed tower were evacuated while several cars in the area were damaged by the falling debris.
The cause of the fire was not immediately established.
