Oakland, California – A woman who was killed in a two-vehicle collision in East Oakland on Sunday morning has been identified as 29-year-old Waynette Hunter of Oakland.
The fatal car accident happened at the intersection of 98th Avenue and MacArthur Boulevard near Highway 580 at about 3:36 p.m. April 26.
The California Highway Patrol said a silver Nissan Quest had been traveling westbound on MacArthur Boulevard and was making a turn onto southbound 98th Avenue when it collided with a white Honda Civic that was traveling eastbound on MacArthur.
Hunter, who was a passenger in the Honda, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Alameda County coroner’s Bureau.
The 25-year-old Oakland woman who was driving the Honda suffered serious injuries and was taken to Highland Hospital in Oakland where she was listed in critical but stable condition.
A 20-year-old Oakland woman was seriously injured in the accident and was taken to Highland Hospital.
No additional information was provided.
The CHP and Oakland police are investigating the cause of the accident.
