Pomona, California – The California Highway Patrol has identified a man who was killed in a crash along 10 Freeway in Pomona on Saturday night.
21-year-old Christopher Gilpineda, of Montebello, was killed in a two-car crash that occurred along the westbound lanes of the freeway near Kellogg Drive at about 11:25 p.m. April 11.
Gilpineda was driving a 2017 Honda Accord when his vehicle’s left front tire flattened. He pulled stopped within the No.3 and 4 lanes and got out of his car.
An approaching 2018 Honda Civic crashed into the disabled car and struck Gilpineda.
Gilpineda was pronounced dead at the scene by the Los Angeles County coroner’s office
Information about the driver of the Civic was not provided.
The accident remains under investigation.
