Oakland, California – 29-year-old Desmond King has been identified as the man who was killed in a pedestrian accident that left three other men injured on Sunday night in the Fairfax district of Oakland.
According to a report by the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened in the 5400 block of Bancroft Avenue at about 6:51 p.m. March 29.
A 29-year-old man driving a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu westbound on Bancroft Avenue when he crashed into a parked car. The motorist, who was allegedly drunk at the time of the incident, then veered off the roadway and struck pedestrians on a sidewalk.
The driver exited the car and attended to flee the scene but was apprehended and arrested.
One of the pedestrians, identified only as Desmond King, died at the scene of the accident.
The other three pedestrians, all men aged 39, 45, and 50, were injured in the accident and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
No additional information was provided.
