LA County Confirms 1 New Death as Number of COVID-19 Cases Rise to 400


71 More Coronavirus Cases, 1 New Death Confirmed in LA County

Just a day after officials gave out a more substantial stay-at-home order which prohibited all private and public gatherings, a fifth person was announced dead Sunday from the new coronavirus in Los Angeles County.

The victim, who was over 65 years of age, was said to have had underlying health conditions and lived in Culver City.

The Department of Health confirmed that there were 409 confirmed positive coronavirus cases in LA County, with 132 new diagnoses reported in the last 48 hours and eighty-four people being hospitalized. 

The health officials noted that all the confirmed COVID-19 positive cases had been taken to isolation and their close contacts were being quarantined.

The Public Health had on Saturday issued an order prohibiting all gatherings and events, as well as golf courses and any personal grooming services.
