MS Braemar Docks in Cuba after Being Denied Entry to Several Caribbean Countries

More than 700 Passengers Would Be Flown back to the UK

A British cruise ship has finally docked in Cuba after being turned away from multiple ports in the Caribbean following reports that some of the passengers had contracted coronavirus.

The MS Braemar had more than 700 passengers on board, the majority from the UK.

The cruise ship had been stuck in the Caribbean waters for more than a week after being denied entry into the United States, the Bahamas and Barbados.

Five people on the ship were confirmed to have been infected by the virus.

The UK foreign minister thanked the Cuban government for allowing the ship to dock and passengers to disembark.

The passengers were to be flown back to the UK by chartered planes.
