Landslides Reported in Northern India after Heavy Downpour

3 People were Trapped in Makeshift House and Had to be Rescued by Emergency Crews

Landslides were reported after heavy rainfall pounded Northern India and Indian-administered Kashmir last weekend.

According to local media reports, the downpour resulted in severe flooding and landslides that blocked the main link road between Ramnagar and Udhampur. Traffic on the Jammu-Srinagar highway was also disrupted, forcing commuters to complete their journeys on foot.

The authorities said three people were trapped in a makeshift house near the Indira Gandhi Medical College and had to be rescued by emergency responders.

Landslides were also reported in Shimla, the state capital of Himachal Pradesh.

There were no reports of casualties.
