NHL, MLS and NBA Suspended as Coronavirus Hits American Sports

Sporting Events Suspended to Curb the Spread of Novel Coronavirus

As more people test positive for coronavirus across the US, the health emergency has been forced to make changes to some of the significant sporting activities.

In an Instagram post, Donovan Mitchell, an Utah Jazz player, had announced that he tested positive for the coronavirus. On Wednesday, Rudy Gobert, Mitchell’s teammate, also tested positive. The two cases prompted the NBA league to suspend the season.

The Utah Jazz players were also requested to self-quarantine in Oklahoma City.

The NHL officials made a statement on Thursday officially suspending the 2019-20 season due to the spread of the coronavirus epidemic.

The Washington state banned events of more than 250 people in several counties on Wednesday. The ban prompted changes for the MLP.  The Seattle Mariners have had to reschedule their upcoming games in Seattle.
