Former Brazilian football superstar Ronaldinho was arrested by the police in Paraguay for attempting to enter the country with falsified documents, his attorney Sergio Queiroz confirmed.
Ronaldinho and his brother, Roberto Assis, who were taken into custody in the capital, Asuncion, are expected to face a judge on Saturday.
The footballer’s legal team has since filed an injunction to release the pair. Officers from the organized crime and economic crimes units are leading the investigation.
The two arrived in Paraguay on Wednesday and were to take part in a football clinic for children.
