North Hollywood, California – The Los Angeles County coroner’s office has disclosed the identity of a man who was killed in a fiery multi-vehicle collision in North Hollywood on Sunday, March 1.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal collision happened on the Hollywood (170) Freeway near Roscoe Boulevard at about 10:45 p.m.
30-year-old Kenny Duarte was driving a 1994 Honda Del Sol southbound on the roadway when his vehicle was rear-ended by a 2015 Lexus GS 350.
The impact of the collision caused the Honda to crash into the center divider.
A passing 2016 Lexus ES 350 also crashed into the left rear side of the Honda.
The Honda reportedly caught fire after the collision.
Mr. Duarte was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 62-year-old female passenger of the Lexus sustained minor injuries and was transported to Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank.
No additional information was provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
