Fresno, California – A man was arrested on suspicion of DUI following a head-on collision that left three people injured in Fresno on Sunday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened in the area of California and Cornelia avenues at about 6:30 p.m. March 1.
56-year-old Sixto Lopez was reportedly driving his car eastbound on California Avenue when he drifted into the westbound lanes for unknown reasons and collided with a Chevrolet occupied 44-year-old Kenda Gutierrez and two boys.
Lopez was seriously injured in the accident and was transported to Community Regional Medical Center. He was later arrested for DUI and booked into the Fresno County jail
The 17-year-old boy and the 13-year-old who were riding in the Chevrolet sustained minor injuries in the accident.
Gutierrez was unhurt.
