Qatar Evacuates Citizens in Iran over Corona Virus Fears

Government Says Evacuees will be Quarantined for 14 Days

All Qatari citizens in Iran have been evacuated over coronavirus fears, the Government Communications Office (CGO) said in a press statement.

The government said all those who were brought back to Doha on Thursday will be quarantined in a local hotel for at least two weeks.

The CGO confirmed that no case of coronavirus has been reported in the country. Citizens were also advised to refer to official information and not spread unconfirmed or unofficial information.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) was the first nation in the Middle East to register the first case of the virus.

At least 80,000 people have been diagnosed with the virus across the world.
