20 People Killed after Passenger Train Collided with Bus in Pakistan

The Accident Happened at Unmanned Railway Crossing in Kandhra Town


At least 20 people died after a train collided with a passenger bus in Pakistan on Frida. The authorities said the accident happened in Kandhra town of Sukkur district, about 500 kilometers from the port city of Karachi.

Several other people were wounded in the accident and were transported to area hospitals for treatment. Some of the victims were in critical condition with health officials expressing fears of a possible rise in the death toll.

Although the events leading up to the accident were not immediately established, district commissioner Shafique Ahmed Mahesar said the accident happened at an unmanned railway crossing.

Pakistan has a long history of train accidents. Last year, 23 people were killed and 72 others were injured after a passenger train crashed into as ta
