An Investigation to Determine Cause of Accident is Ongoing


Two people died after a train derailed in Australia on Thursday night. Officials said the incident happened near the town of Wallan along the Sydney-Melbourne route.

Those killed in the accident were identified only as a 54-year-old male driver and his 49-year-old female co-driver.

The locomotive and five off its carriages left the track after derailing.

Although the cause of the accident was not immediately established, concerns have been raised about the condition of the tracks.
