U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officer Fatally Shoots Family and Self at Florida Home
Authorities in Florida are investigating an incident whereby a U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer is suspected of shooting his wife and two children before turning the gun on himself in their home in Florida.
On Thursday afternoon, Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputies forced entry into the Orlando home after they received reports that some of the family members had not been seen since last week.
Inside the house, the deputies found the officer, his wife and two sons dead from gunshot wounds.
The elder son was in high school and the younger in middle school.
An initial investigation revealed that the officer shot his family before killing himself using the gun.
The officer was assigned to Orlando International Airport. Authorities do not believe there are other suspects.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
