Orange County, California (February 20, 2020) – A 49-year-old Vista man was seriously injured in a pedestrian accident that happened on 22 Freeway in Orange on Thursday morning.
The California Highway Patrol said the man was walking north across the eastbound lanes of 22 Freeway near Main Street at about 1 a.m. when he was hit by a Jeep Compass.
The man was seriously injured in the accident and was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
The 35-year-old Orange man who was driving the SUV remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
The authorities ruled out drugs and alcohol as factors in the accident.
No additional information was provided.
The CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
