North Highlands, California (February 16, 2020) – At least six people including five children were injured in a head-on collision in North Highlands, Sacramento, on Saturday evening.
The accident was reported at around 6:40 p.m. at Auburn Boulevard and Hemlock Street.
The California Highway Patrol said an eastbound Nissan Sentra was attempting to turn onto Hemlock Street from Auburn Boulevard when it collided head-on with a westbound Chevy Malibu.
The driver of the Malibu and his five juvenile passengers were seriously injured in the accident and were taken to local hospitals for treatment.
The Nissan driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
The CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
