Heitor Carreiro Killed in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident in Richmond, Terrell Richardson Arrested

Heitor Carreiro ID’d as Boy Killed in Richmond Pedestrian Accident on Coalinga Avenue


Richmond, California (February 12, 2020) – 26-year-old Terrell O. Richardson has turned himself into Richmond police after a fatal pedestrian accident that killed 4-year-old Heitor Carreiro on Friday evening.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at about 5 p.m. February 7, in the 2200 block of Coalinga Avenue.

The boy was standing with his father who was unloading groceries near their home in Richmond, Contra Costa, when he was hit by an SUV.

Carreiro sustained serious injuries and was flown to UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Richardson fled the scene but later turned himself at the Richmond Police Department.

He faces multiple felony charges.

No additional information was provided.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
