Woman Injured in Alameda Pedestrian Accident at Encinal Avenue and Walnut Street


Alameda, California (February 12, 2020) – A female pedestrian was struck and seriously injured by a vehicle on Tuesday afternoon in Alameda, the California Highway Patrol said.

The accident happened at the intersection of Encinal Avenue and Walnut Street at about 1:24 p.m. February 11.

A woman was on the crosswalk when a minivan struck her for unknown reasons

The unidentified woman was taken to the hospital with major injuries.

Authorities said the driver of the minivan remained at the scene and cooperated with the detectives.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
