At least five people were killed in a suicide attack at a government-run defense ministry in Kabul.
Interior ministry spokesman Nasrat Rahimi said two civilians and three military personnel were killed in the attack, the first major attack in the Afghan capital this year.
The blast happened at the entrance gate of the Marshal Fahim Military Academy. Witnesses reported hearing gunfire shortly after the attack.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
The Taliban is currently holding talks with the US. The US has announced plans to withdraw its troops from Afghanistan.
The last major attack in the capital was in November 2019 where at least 12 people were killed in a car bomb.
