Pittsburg, California (February 9, 2020) –59-year-old Tony Moss of Antioch was arrested following an alleged DUI car accident that occurred early Sunday morning in Pittsburg, claiming a life of a motorcyclist.
The fatal accident happened on Highway 4 near Bailey Road at about 2:00 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
Contra Costa County officials said a 2002 Volkswagen sedan driven by Moss and a 2015 Toyota driven by a 20-year-old Oakley man collided on the roadway for unknown reasons.
A Harley Davidson operated by the 29-year-old Antioch man then crashed into the two vehicles.
The 29-year-old motorcyclist was killed in the accident. His name was not disclosed pending notification of his family.
The Toyota driver, a 20-year-old Oakley man, suffered minor injuries in the crash.
Moss was taken to John Muir hospital in Walnut Creek for treatment in unknown condition.
He was later released from the hospital and transported to the Martinez detention facility, where he was booked into the county jail on suspicion of felony DUI.
