Florida Man Arrested for Allegedly Intentionally Driving Van into Tent Occupied by Republican Supporters

27-Year-Old Florida Man Charged after Driving his Van through Duval County Republican Supporters Tent


Authorities arrested a 27-year-old man who allegedly drove his van through a tent that was occupied by republican supporters.

The incident happened on Saturday at a shopping center parking lot in Sandalwood, where the Republican Party of Duval County had set up a voter registration exercise.

The man was identified as Gregory William Loel Timm.

Timm is suspected of accelerating his van into a crowd of volunteers, “intentionally” targeting them. He then sped away, making obscene gestures. No one was injured during the incident.

According to Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, Timm was arrested hours after the incident and now faces charges in aggravated assault, one count of criminal mischief, and one count of driving on a suspended license.

Investigators said they do not know if the incident was politically motivated.
