Fremont, California (February 10, 2020) – A robbery suspect was arrested on Sunday morning after a police chase that ended in a violent crash in Fremont.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at about 1:50 a.m. February 9, at Mowry Avenue and Farwell Drive.
Fremont police said they located a teenager wanted on robbery warrants in the Kaiser Permanente emergency room parking lot off Paseo Padre Parkway.
The suspect maneuvered his way out of the parking lot after ramming into a police patrol vehicle and other parked cars.
The suspect failed to yield to a red light at the intersection and crashed into a vehicle driven by a woman.
The paramedics who responded to the incident had to extricate the female driver from the vehicle before being transported to an area hospital for treatment of major injuries. A teenager in her car was also hospitalized.
The suspect abandoned his vehicle at the scene of the accident and fled on foot. However, he was arrested a short time later and faces multiple felony charges.
