Thai Soldier Kills 17 People in Shooting Rampage

The Gunman is yet to be Apprehended


Seventeen people were killed and more than 20 others wounded in a mass shooting in the northeastern city of Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand.

The shooter, who has been identified by the police as Sergeant Major Jakrapanth Thomma, fled after the incident and is yet to be located.

The authorities said the Thai soldier stole a military vehicle and went on a rampage, opening fire at different locations in the city.

Video footage circulating online showed the soldier getting out of the vehicle and firing several shots.

The army is investigating the incident.

Thai Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-Ocha expressed condolences to the families of those killed in the shooting.
