Sonora, California (February 5, 2020) – Two people were killed after a small plane crashed in the Sierra Nevada foothills on Wednesday evening.

According to a report by the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at about 6 p.m. near Columbia Airport.

The small plane is reported to have crashed in a field near a home in Tuolumne County.

Two people on board the plane were killed in the accident.

The identities of the deceased were not immediately disclosed.

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the accident
