Morgan Hill, California (February 5, 2020) – 39-year-old Tapelu Tapelu has been identified as the man who was killed in an alleged DUI car accident that happened on Sunday night in Morgan Hill.

The fatal crash was reported at around 8 p.m. February 2, on Condit Road near East Dunne Avenue.

Tapelu was driving a Nissan Altima southbound on Condit Road when, for unknown reasons, he collided head-on with a northbound Audi driven by a 49-year-old Morgan Hill woman.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Tapelu was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was killed in the accident.

The Audi driver was trapped inside the car and was extricated by firefighters who responded to the incident.

The unidentified woman was airlifted to an area hospital for treatment.

No further information was provided.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
