San Bernardino, California (February 4, 2020) – The authorities have disclosed the identities of a driver and a passenger who were killed in a head-on collision that occurred on Sunday night in San Bernardino.

According to a report by the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at about 11:30 a.m. January 2, on Kendall Drive near H Street.

20-year-old Phillip Sanchez was reportedly driving an Acura TL southbound on the roadway when he drifted into the opposite lanes and collided head-on with a Chevrolet pickup truck.

A passenger in the Acura, 17-year-old Izack Pacheo of Fontana, was killed in the accident.

Sanchez was transported to an area hospital where he died while undergoing treatment.

The 22-year-old San Bernardino woman who was driving the pickup truck was hospitalized with minor injuries.

No other information was provided.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
