San Jose, California (February 4, 2020) – A man who was killed in a
car accident in San Jose, Santa Clara County, on Sunday has been identified.
According to Santa Clara County
medical examiner’s office, the victim was 22-year-old Esteban Ontiveros Jr. of
Esteban Ontiveros Jr. was driving a 2010 Hyundai Accent northbound on Highway 101 near Bailey Avenue when he crashed into the rear of a 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander.
The Hyundai spun and was hit by a 2019 Freghtliner
Cascadia big-rig, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The Hyundai reportedly overturned and caught
Mr. Ontiveros Jr., who was ejected from
his vehicle, was hit by a passing a 2012 Mazda 3. He was pronounced dead at

The CHP is investigating the cause of the fatal collision.
