Fresno, California (February 4, 2019) – Two police officers were injured
in a traffic collision involving a suspected drunk driver in Fresno on Sunday
According to a report by the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at Fresno Street and M Street in front of the Fresno County jail at about 10 p.m.
The officers were from dropping a prisoner at a jail when a driver ran a red light and hit them.
Both officers sustained minor
injuries in the accident.
The driver of the second vehicle,
who was later identified as 47-year-old Ray Johnson, was arrested for driving
under the influence and for driving with a suspended
No other information was provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
