Jesse Esparza Arrested after DUI Car Accident on Montgomery Drive near Spring Lake in Santa Rosa


Santa Rosa, California (February 4, 2020) – One person was injured in a suspected DUI car accident that happened in Santa Rosa, Sonoma County, on Sunday night.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened on Montgomery Drive near Spring Lake at about 8:45 p.m. February 2.

69-year-old Jesse Esparza was driving a car on the roadway when he drifted into the opposite lanes and collided head-on with a westbound Honda sedan.

Santa Rosa Police Department said the impact of the collision sent the Honda sedan down an embankment.

The driver of the Honda was extricated by Santa Rosa Fire Department officers before being transported to the hospital for treatment.

Mr. Esparza was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

No other information was provided.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
