San Diego, California (February 2, 2020) – A woman was seriously injured in a pedestrian accident that happened in the El Cerrito neighborhood of San Diego on Sunday night.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened on El Cajon Boulevard near 56th Street at about 8 p.m.

San Diego Police Department said the woman was crossing El Cajon Boulevard when she was hit by a car.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.

The unidentified woman was seriously injured in the accident and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

No other information was provided.

The CHP is investigating the pedestrian accident.
