1 Injured in Car Accident on 43rd Street near Interstate 805 Freeway in San Diego


San Diego, California (February 2, 2020) – A man was seriously injured in a multi-vehicle caused by a suspected distracted driver on Sunday afternoon.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at about 2:20 p.m. on 43rd Street near Interstate 805 Freeway.

A female driver of a Toyota Camry had allegedly taken her eyes off the road when she came upon vehicles stopped at traffic lights.

The female driver swerved to avoid a collision and struck a pickup truck before crashing into a third vehicle.

The male driver of the pickup truck sustained major injuries and was taken to UCSD hospital for treatment.

No other information was provided.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
