20 Killed in Stampede at Church in Tanzania

Hundreds of Worshippers Rushed to get Anointed Resulting in the Stampede


At least twenty people were killed in a stampede at a church service in Moshi, Tanzania, on Saturday.

According to a report by officials, the stampede happened during a ceremony led by the popular preacher, Boniface Mwamposa, at Arise and Shine Ministry Tanzania.

The preacher is reported to have poured what he claimed to be holy oil on the ground.

Hundreds of worshippers rushed to get anointed resulting in the stampede.

The authorities said at least twenty people were killed in the stampede. Sixteen others were injured in the incident and were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.

The officials expressed fears that the death toll could rise.
