California (February 1, 2020) – A man died after being hit by a pickup
truck in Long Beach on Friday evening.
Long Beach Police Department said the accident happened at about 7:15 p.m. January 31, at the intersection of Redondo Avenue and Hill Street.
A pedestrian was reportedly crossing the intersection when he was hit by a 2020 Ford Ranger that was traveling southbound on Redondo Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian
was seriously injured in the accident and was rushed to a local hospital for treatment.
Sadly, the pedestrian died a short time later.
As per the CHP report, the 49-year-old Long Beach man who was
driving the car remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
No other information was provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
