Man in Wheelchair Hit and Injured by Car at Bayard and Grand in Pacific Beach, San Diego

Man Injured in San Diego Pedestrian Accident at Bayard Street and Grand Avenue


San Diego, California (January 31, 2020) – A man in a wheelchair was injured after beings struck by a car in the Pacific Beach area of San Diego on Thursday evening.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at the intersection of Bayard Street and Grand Avenue at about 6 p.m. January 30.

San Diego Police Department said a 50-year-old man in a wheelchair rolled into the intersection and was hit by a 2008 Nissan Versa driven by a 33-year-old woman.

The unidentified pedestrian was seriously injured in the accident and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The motorist remained at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.

No other information was provided.     

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
