At least thirty six people were killed in an attack in the Beni area of the Democratic Republic of Congo on Tuesday.
According to local media reports, an armed group attacked villages in eastern DRC.
The attack happened in Manzingi and Eringeti villages. The assailants are reported to have hacked the villagers, including one pastor to death.
Two other people sustained serious skull fractures and are still receiving treatment in an area hospital.
The Kivu Security Tracker (KST) reports that 265 people have been killed in the Beni region since late October.
The country’s security forces launched an operation to fight the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), on October 30.
