Redding, California (January
29, 2020) – One person was killed in a head-on collision that happened on
Highway 299 in Redding on Wednesday.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident
happened on Highway 299 near Whiskeytown scales.
The authorities said a Toyota pickup truck operated by a suspected drunk driver was traveling westbound when it collided head-on with an eastbound Chevy truck.
The female driver of
the Chevy died while being flown to an area hospital for treatment.
The Toyota driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI.
No other information was provided.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
